A Statement by the Universal Group of Companies Regarding an Amendment to the Chair of its Board of Directors

To achieve a smooth transition and normal conduct of the Universal Group activities in a legal manner based on the vision of its founder and leader, Mr. Alwan Saeed Al-Shaibani, who passed away on Wednesday 8 June 2022 in a London hospital, and based on the decision made by the general assemblies of the group companies, it has been decided to appoint Mr. Omar Mohammed Omar Chairman of the board of directors of the Universal Group.
It has also been decided that the Group CEO and the major group managers and staff resume their duties. The Group Chairman shall have all the authorities assigned to him based on the relevant provisions of the applicable laws and the regulations of the group companies.
The appointed Chairman of the Universal Group, along with its management and staff, shall remain committed to performing their tasks with high professionalism and pledge to embrace the concept of working relentlessly towards a better future with the aim of realizing the legacy and vision of their mentor, Mr. Alwan Al-Shaibani.
